Towards a world-leading skills passport for Australian students. A consortium of 14 universities, led by the University of New England, will develop a single agreed template for an Australian Diploma Supplement. Development of the Australian Diploma Supplement is in response to feedback from the discussion paper ‘The Bologna Process and Australia: Next Steps’. The Bologna Process in Europe aims to establish a single European Higher Education Area by 2010, focusing on curriculum and quality assurance. The Australian Diploma Supplement will document a student’s outcomes as well as describe the nature, context, content and status of a graduate’s qualification. It will mean Australian qualifications can be better recognised overseas and will help increase mobility. [Government Education Portal News Headlines]
