Victoria’s plan to improve literacy and numeracy outcomes. Victoria has now released a draft literacy and numeracy plan for community consultation. The paper sets out a ten year vision for the Victorian and Commonwealth Governments to work together to: value good teaching and ensure the best teachers possible in all schools; build a culture of improvement in schools; and direct resources to where they can most make a difference. After public consultation, the Victorian government will seek Commonwealth support for the plan through COAG as part of the National Reform Agenda. [Government Education Portal News Headlines]
