LAKEWOOD RANCH — One of the nation’s leading educational theorists, who says intelligence can be measured in ways beyond test scores and standard assessments, comes to the Lakewood Ranch campus of The Out-of-Door Academy next week.
Dr. Howard Gardner introduced the theory of multiple intelligences in 1983 and has since applied the concept worldwide and brought its tenets to millions. While many educators had thought of “smarts” only in terms of English and math, Gardner surmised there are eight ways to assess IQ.
